Pimai Salt Co., Ltd. with the technical cooperation from BIOTEC spent 3 years (2003 ? 2005) to acquire the success on the rehabilitation of the salty soil area provided for the solar salt evaporation.? The reduction of residual salinity of 4 % to 1 % left over in the soil can bring back its natural property that confirms the plant cultivation.

The company and BIOTEC have jointly conducted the experimental research on jasmine rice growing development aiming at strong resistance to the salty soil as well as high yield of productivity, and the research result indicated highly positive outcome.? And the opportunity was taken to participate in the technical seminar on ?The 6th Asian Crop Science Association Conference and? ?The 2nd International Conference on Rice for the Future? organized and supported by concerned institutions and organizations;? Kasetsart University, Department of Agriculture, Department of Rice, Japanese Society of Breeding, Crop Science Society of Japan, on November 5 ? 9, 2007, at Queen Sirikit National Conference Centre.

Dr. Chalermpol? Kirdmanee, Ph.D.of? BIOTEC, researcher and expert on plant physic-biochemistry program, sharing the above mentioned success with PSC, has been awarded the winner prize of Japan International Award 2007 of Agricultural Researchers by the Ministry of Forestry and Fishery of Japan.
