Pimai Salt Co.,Ltd and National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) ,National Science and Technology Development Agency have jointly set up the rehabilitation and recondition project for the salty soil area. The project introduces the growing of various kinds of flora of well resistance to the salty effect in the soil, and the study on the genetic development of the Jasmine Rice which exhibits the salty effect resistance ,in the earth ponds previously employed for the company solar salt production .The project aims at the following targets:

1. To develop and generate employments, incomes for the local farmers.
2. To introduce the proper method of growing rice in the salty soil with fast growth rate and high yield of productivity
3. To establish the tight connection of all parties involved; local farmers, rice mills, the company , and BIOTEC ,in order to acquire a brainstorm for the research of the right type of rice that can meet the consumer?s requirement.
